Firm Roots Cancer Support

Firm Roots is a small Christian network in the UK, providing prayer and spiritual support for people affected by cancer, as well as their families and friends. We run Firm Roots Cancer Prayer Support Groups around the country and Christian retreat days, as a time to pray and find comfort and encouragement in God. We recognise that cancer can be a frightening time, which raises lots of questions about God and faith, but we believe that God walks with us through the storm of cancer and holds us firm when our roots are in him. Our motto is ‘Strength for today and hope for tomorrow.’
Our prayer group meetings are friendly and informal and are for anyone with a cancer diagnosis, family, friends and oncology staff. People from all different church backgrounds attend, and we also welcome you if you are unsure about faith but would like to receive prayer and encouragement as you go through cancer.

Our aims are:
 To offer prayer and spiritual support to people affected by cancer, and those caring for them.
 To walk alongside people whose lives have been affected by cancer, and to support them with God’s love.
 To offer prayer support groups and retreats as a time to reflect, pray and be encouraged.
 To work with local churches to offer prayer and practical support for people affected by cancer and their families. Our focus is ecumenical, and we want to grow and develop new cancer prayer support groups across the country.
 To grow a network of support for Firm Roots prayer group leaders.

We are currently planning some online Firm Roots prayer support for 2024 and some retreat days, so please check back here for updates.
Thank you for visiting our website and may God bless and uphold you.
