INTRODUCING OUR GROUP
Dorchester Firm Roots is a small local prayer support group in Dorset, with people who either have or have had personal experience of cancer themselves, or who have supported a close family member or friend. The group offers emotional and spiritual support, and to pray for people.
Mike, one of the team, says: “Having cared for my wife who had bowel cancer, I know just how deeply cancer affects the person suffering, and also so many more people around them. At Firm Roots we seek to offer prayer support for anyone affected, in whatever way”.
Dorchester Firm Roots meets at 2:00pm on the third Wednesday afternoon of every month, for a cuppa and a chat, for a time of Biblical reflection and to pray for people affected by cancer. Our meetings are held at the Dorchester Community Church, Poundbury.
We also meet on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month, for a coffee and informal chat. Whilst the Christian faith of Firm Roots is demonstrated by the motto - “Strength for today and hope for tomorrow” - it is open to everyone, of all faiths, and of no faith.
If you would like some support, please join us at our monthly meetings, or you can email us to find out more: [email protected]
