A growing number of people and churches of all denominations are realising why there is a real need for Christians to offer prayer and support in a more targetted way to local people experiencing cancer. There are Firm Roots groups in different parts of the country, but there are still big gaps. We ask that you seek God to see if he is leading you to explore starting a group in your area. |

You need at least one or more people to work with you who
- Have personal experience of cancer
- Are reasonably well
- Are people people
- Believe that Christians have a vital message of hope
Once you have made some progress in principle
- Contact Firm Roots and we will meet with you to offer support and guidance
- This may be via a virtual video meeting, or in person
- Ask for our Guide to Starting a Firm Roots Group.
- Have a first planning meeting. We have some suggested agenda topics
Find a church for active support
It's vital you find at least one local church that
- Believes in what you are doing and sees your group as part of their mission
- Supports the group leaders spiritually, and will back you in prayer
- Supports the group practically, will help you publicise the endeavour, and ideally provide you with premises.
